Problems Found
The deprecated Move Trial Opportunity to Trial Expired action combined creation and updating without first explicitly finding the intended Trial opportunity.
This workflow is triggered by a contact tag, not an opportunity. The old action did not guarantee that the genuine existing Trial record was the one being progressed, and creation behavior was available.
The issue was the record-handling pattern, not deprecation alone. No claim is made that every historical execution created a duplicate.
Legacy opportunity configuration
The old configuration was recorded approximately as:
- Pipeline: Hovis Trial
- Pipeline Stage: Trial Expired
- Opportunity Name: Contact Full Name
- Status: open
- Previous-stage movement: OFF
- Duplicate opportunities: OFF
Verified Paid Suppression, Retained
The top guard was already correct: reischool - monthly OR reischool - lifetime → Converted - Stop → End.
Still Unconverted - Continue is the fallback only when neither paid tag is present. Paid Monthly/Lifetime contacts therefore stop before course revocation and post-Trial selling.
Before each later nudge: NOT Lifetime AND NOT Monthly continues. If either paid tier is present, Converted - Stop → End. This verified pattern remains in place through Nudge 10.
Verified Opportunity Configuration
Find Existing Hovis Trial Opportunity
- Most recently created opportunity
- Pipeline: Hovis Trial
- No Pipeline Stage filter
- No Source, Value, Status or other additional filters
Opportunity Found → Update Hovis Trial Opportunity to Trial Expired
- Pipeline: Hovis Trial
- Pipeline Stage: Trial Expired
- Allow Opportunity to Move to Any Previous Stage: OFF
- Duplicate Opportunity: Disabled
- No Opportunity Name, Source, Value or Status changes
Opportunity Not Found → End.
Trial Course-Access Grant/Revoke Pairing Verified
The revoke action remains only on Still Unconverted - Continue, after the initial paid-status guard.
- Action name: Revoke REI School Trial Course Access
- Currently selected offer: REI School™ Lifetime Membership $497 OTO Bundle
The active Trial Nurture course-grant action was opened and verified: it grants this exact same offer. Post-Trial Upgrade revokes that offer, so the grant/revoke pairing is verified as intentional. The offer is the current Trial course-access container. “Lifetime” in its name does not establish paid entitlement; the canonical paid signals remain reischool - lifetime and reischool - monthly. Live course-revocation execution remains QA pending.
Email Cadence and Final Tail, Retained
Email - Trial Expired Nudge 1 through Email - Trial Expired Nudge 10 retain their existing waits.
- After Nudge 1: Wait 2 days
- After Nudge 2: Wait 2 days
- Later observed waits include 5 days
These examples do not redefine every interval. The existing cadence was preserved, not normalized.
At the final check: Still Unconverted - Continue → Email - Trial Expired Nudge 10 → End. Converted - Stop → End. No stray action follows Nudge 10.
Nudge 1 Email, Verified
The email states that the 7-day Trial has ended and offers $47/month or $497 once.

Email Attribution Update
Track Clicks is ON and UTM tracking is enabled across all 10 Trial Expired nudges. This audit covers the email side of Clau’s tracking standard.
Global defaults identify email. The campaign value identifies this sequence only.Global GHL email defaults: utm_source=email and utm_medium=email.
No global utm_campaign value was set. Reactivation and other email campaigns need their own identifiers.
Post-Trial campaign/link value: utm_campaign=hovis-trial-expired-2026-09.
Configured campaign CTA structure:
https://www.reischool.com/?utm_campaign=hovis-trial-expired-2026-09#membership
The campaign parameter appears before the #membership anchor. With GHL UTM tracking enabled, the sent email should also append utm_source=email and utm_medium=email. The real sent-email output, anchor behavior and absence of duplicate campaign parameters remain QA checks.
Naming follows Clau’s standard: lowercase, hyphens between words, no spaces and a stable campaign name.
Belle owns GHL attribution implementation: First Touch and Last Touch fields, forms/landing-page attribution, purchase attribution and reporting. Clau owns live QA only after Belle signals readiness. These broader items are not recorded as completed by this email audit.
Why the Correction Matters
The CRM preserves the Trial customer’s history instead of potentially replacing it at expiration. Explicit Find → Update identifies the record to progress, while a missing record ends safely. The existing Monthly/Lifetime guards continue to protect paid members before course revocation and before later selling emails.
Email attribution is more consistent without applying this Post-Trial campaign name to unrelated workflows. Live QA still needs to confirm the resulting record movement, suppression and sent-email tracking.
